originally off the garages album 'in the feedback', i had been following blaseball for like 2-3 days at this point, and had in that time listened to the entire garages's discography (at that point only like 2 EPs and an album) about 3 times, and decided "what the hell, I might not get the chance to record a whole song once at uni, let's do something"
how wrong I was
lyrically, this one's pretty simple, as it got bashed out in the only 6 free hours I had before leaving for uni, although I got incredibly lucky that jaylen's resurrection worked (just to note for anyone who wasn't there, this was both recorded and released before the resurrection actually happened). if it hadn't, i'd've looked like a right dick
lyrics
“raise the dead”
that’s what they said
but we know it’s not so simple, you see
when the team
completes the dream
who will be left unseen?
when she passed away
those of us who had to stay
don’t what she’s seen in the underland
so how could we doom one of the band?
so watch out
we’ll hunt you
we’ll find your hidey-hole
we’re gonna keep running and running
till we take back what you stole
but we don’t
know what will
happen when you’re seen
so till then we will try and keep her at number 14 (higher, lower (x8))
number 14 (higher, lower (x8))
is the sun a god?
what about the peanut too?
when we’ve won this fight, do we fight them too?
but for now.
we stay
for the rest of our lives, we will know the gods are not on our side.
who’s side are they on?
who’s side are they on?
so watch out
we’ll hunt you
we’ll find your hidey-hole
we’re gonna keep running and running
till we take back what you stole
but we don’t
know what will
happen when you’re seen
so till then we will try and keep her at number 14 (higher, lower (x8))
number 14 (higher, lower (x8))
hope that we’ll see them again
in this life or another

Look we're in a pandemic and I, for one, am still too careful to go to live music. The Garages have fixed that not only by putting on a "live" performance, but by sending out the albums. I love the pixies album from a Chapel Hill show because I was there, and I love this for the same reason. mightymur
